No. I don't sell Folding Chairs.

I figured it was about time that I let you guys in on something that you may have wondered about.
Why is my shop called Folding Chair Designs?

Well, my sister talked me into opening an Etsy shop to sell the hair accessories that
I was previously making just for friends and family.
We all played around with shop names for a week or two.
At the time, I had no idea that this name
or even the shop
would be sticking around for as long as it has.

Late one night, I was listening to Regina Spektor's latest album at the time, Far,
and the song Folding Chair came on.
(If you haven't heard this song, I linked to a youtube video above or listen to it through Spotify below)
I've loved Regina's music for almost a decade, so naming my business after one of her songs was not a stretch for me, at all.

The words are simple. They capture the kind of life that Tony and I have together.
I love simplicity in everyday life.
We have always found the majority of our joy in little things,
trips to the coast, family time, camping, road trips, live music...

This song captures what I hope we can continue to be together.

So. Folding Chair Designs was born.

And there you have it, folks.
If I ever decide to manufacture actual folding chairs, you'll be the first to know.

And here is a photo of me at 1am, pumping out my first wholesale order just weeks after opening up for business.

I miss you, dear bangs. I miss you a lot.

The Nearsighted Owl and Crafty Wonderland...That Sounds like a storybook title.

Rachele from The Nearsighted Owl came by our booth at Crafty Wonderland and purchased a new headband for herself.
It's one of my favorites. It's a vintage applique on a metal band that was wrapped in vintage mustard color ribbon. They're crazy 1970's colors in the best possible way.

Rachele sent me a link to an outfit post the she wrote up while wearing her new headband!
I love it.
Seeing customers wearing my creations in real life is so dang cool.

I also love that she took a picture of my booth,
I didn't get a picture from that angle, I'm still tickled when I see pictures of it.

Check out Rachele's cool blog here.

And a great big THANK YOU, Rachele! I love the pictures.

I'm Baaaackk

After taking a break from "normal" work to stock up for Crafty Wonderland,
I am SO happy to be getting back into a routine.

You guys. I sold at a show alongside Berkley Illustration, Jill Bliss and Collage.
It was so cool.

My week consisted of days and nights that looked like this.
I was up until at least 2:30am Monday-Friday.
Worth it? Defintely.

Some tissue flowers and a lovely wicker mannequin head that my sister found for me.

Here are some of the goodies that we brought with us to the show.
I love craft shows for a lot of reasons, but I feel that it really forces
my creativity. I always want to come up with something different and special for shows.
This was NO exception.

My booth set up. I loved it. Tony built me a metal frame to go around my booth and
PVC stilts for my two tables.

All of these photos are from Instagram.
